Toddler Room #1

March 2019

Spring is just around the corner and we can hardly wait for the blue skies, tulips and warmer weather that will come with it. Hopefully, with Spring on the way we will be able to venture outside more.
Last month, we talked about winter and Valentine’s Day.  The children enjoyed scooping and digging in the snow, getting pulled around in the sleds and trying to catch some snowflakes on their tongues. Lots of hugs were given and kisses blown around as we talked about love and Valentine’s Day. We are looking to see what interest might transpire this month.
With March Break quickly approaching, please be sure to let staff know of any changes to your child’s schedule during the week of March 11th to the 15th. If you are planning a vacation, we hope that you and your family have a safe and fun time!

Toddler Room #2

March 2019

Even though the extreme weather lately has prevented us from going outside some days, we were still able to enjoy snow activities such as sled rides, shoveling snow, making snow angels and much more on the days we did get out..

We have noticed that the children’s interest have evolved, taking us into different activities. For example, the interest in transportation has now become an interest of tunnels and bridges. We are going to take this observation and discuss “spatial awareness.”

We have also recently been enjoying sensory activities. We have been exploring and discussing different textures such as smooth, rough, bumpy, soft and squishy.
