Toddler Room #1 News

January 2020

January is here and sadly, Christmas is over. We hope that everyone had a wonderful time making memories and spending time with your families. We can’t wait to hear all the children’s stories of what Christmas experiences they had over the holidays at home. At school, the children enjoyed singing Christmas songs, reading Christmas books, and many other fun Christmas activities. However, their favourite song was, “Must Be Santa.”

Thank you so much to all our families who helped contribute to the Salvation Army toy/can drive. Our staff also raised $700.00 by donating money to wear jeans on Fridays. We donated this money to the Essex Food Bank and to the Salvation Army.

Along with January will hopefully come some snowy weather, seeing some snow is sure to ignite an interest of winter in our room. We will be sure to talk about all the fun things and activities that come with winter. We will also be watching for any other interest that the children might have.

Among many other winter songs, here is one that the children will be learning this month.

I’m a Little Snowman

(Sung to: “I’m a Little Teapot”)

I’m a little snowman short and fat.

Here is my scarf and here is my hat.

When the snow is falling come and play.

Build a snowman every day.

Toddler Room #2 News

We would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and we hoped everyone enjoyed their holidays.

During the month of December, the children enjoyed learning about Christmas and along with all the festivities the children were interested in learning about colours, counting and shapes. They also were engrossed with vehicles.

We are excited to see what sparks our interest in 2020. We are going to continue with learning more about transportation and vehicles and see where that leads us.

Thank you so much to all our families who helped contribute to the Salvation Army toy/can drive. Our staff also raised $700.00 by donating money to wear jeans on Fridays. We donated this money to the Essex Food Bank and to the Salvation Army.
