Hello November, with this month comes colder weather. Make sure you are gearing up your child for the winter months by sending hats, mittens (no gloves please ), and a warm coat. We go outside everyday as long as weather permits. Please remember to LABEL everything. We are still seeing non labeled items, and we would love to avoid getting things mixed up, as some children have the similar items.
In the month of October, we explored pumpkins, read books, and told flannel stories about Halloween. Everyday at circle time they continue to learn about shapes, numbers, colours, and first and last name recognition. They also enjoy dancing and moving not only to familiar songs but all types of music.
The children have also been enjoying Playdough; as Playdough is a truly wonderful play-based learning tool for children. It can be used for strengthening fine motor skills and supporting colour, letter and number recognition as well as encouraging sensory exploration and investigation. We are also focused on self help skills such as dressing ourselves outside, using the restroom independently, eating with a spoon and fork, and using a cup.
A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who came to our Open House. It was a huge success, and we hope you all had as much fun as we did; we really enjoyed seeing everyone’s costumes! We would like to also send out a big thank you all for all the kind messages written on the pumpkins on our pumpkin patch bulletin. They sure did make us feel special.
Lastly, in recognition of Remembrance Day on Wednesday, November 11th, we invite you to dress your children in red in honour of this important day.
Thank you, looking forward to another fantastic month!

The busy days of October are behind us, and we are getting closer to Christmas. The next two months will be busy in their own ways. Our toddlers loved learning about Halloween, and all the bats, witches, ghosts and goblins. We hope that everyone had a great time at our open house. We absolutely loved seeing all the children in their costumes. It’s always such a fun time of the year.
Our toddlers have been loving fire trucks, motor homes (aka bus), dump trucks among other toys during outside playtime. We have also brought out some transportation puzzles and toys inside. We will incorporate this interest in our November curriculum as the children really seem to enjoy anything that moves! Can’t wait to see where this leads to next.
We have been very lucky with the beautiful weather lately, however, please make sure to check your child’s spare clothes to see that they are appropriate. Layers on these days always work best!
One last note, in recognition of Remembrance Day on Wednesday, November 11th, we invite everyone to wear red in honour of this important day of remembrance.
