Halfway through? Can you believe it, our summer is halfway complete! It has been a great summer so far. We have had many learning moments, giggles, and amazing accomplishments. However, we believe the most memorable to date is our trip to Natural Pathways.
While at Natural Pathways, the children showed some incredible problem-solving skills, teamwork abilities, and natural wonder. And yes, they became one with mud, trees, sticks, and Earth. Way to go gang!
Of course, no summer is complete without leisure crafts. Perler beads continue to be the favourite; however, it was the canvas creations that really stuck out. The children created beautiful images of summer using fabric, tissue paper, and a variety of other items. They are proudly displayed in our classroom.
Speaking of our classroom, we thank you for your cooperation and patience while our floors were being completed.
August in our classroom promises to be just as exciting. We have a few excursions planned and some guests will be visiting. We will spend time learning some things about camping, hiking, and knot tying. Please see the calendar for all our special dates.
The children have been taking part in a summer reading goal. They each set a goal of how many books or chapters they will read. If they reach their goal, they will be able to receive a prize at the end of summer.
We would also like to remind everyone to continue to wear proper footwear as we are quite active outside and we have other walking trips planned. We will send out reminders when there are special events so that your child may come ready for the adventures.
Please note that Storybook will be closed on Monday, August 3rd for the Civic holiday. We also remind you all the that the last day of summer programming will be Friday, September 4th and we will be closed on Monday, September 7th for Labour Day.
