November is here and so is the cold weather…Brrr!

October went by in a flash but that didn’t stop us from having fun. At the beginning of the month, we focused on friendship and thankfulness. We participated in many activities that helped us reflect on what we are most thankful for as well as helping us to get to know our classmates better. We still share on Mondays and Fridays and our simple ice breaker game from last year has become a weekly tradition. We have created a safe and supportive classroom culture by sharing what makes us happiest and the things we look forward to throughout the year. Of course, when Thanksgiving rolled around, we got onto the topic of our favourite holiday foods. We each made our own “dream plates” by putting our favourite foods on one plate and shared it with the class…yum!

Halloween was our next focus, and our class went all out! We really enjoyed different Halloween Minute to Win It games as well as creating Halloween artwork. A class favourite was a cotton swab skeleton art. We cut up cotton swabs into all different sizes and created skeletons doing all sorts of different activities, some were dancing, playing football, and even singing! It’s such an awesome activity that promotes self expression and creativity!

November also brings us Remembrance day, a day and topic we will be talking about. We will explore how it is important for us to remember those who fought for our freedom not just once a year but everyday.

With the cold weather coming in we ask that you dress your child appropriately for the weather. We love spending time in the morning and afternoon outside. We hope to soak up as much time out there before that cold white stuff starts falling from the sky!

November 17th is a PD day, please let us know as soon as you can if your child will require care that day. Our spaces are filling up fast and we want to be able to accommodate as many families as we can!
