Preschool Room #2 News

June 2026

We think it’s safe to say that the warm weather is here. With that in mind, please check your child’s cubby for winter clothing as it can now go home. It may also be a good idea to switch out their spare clothes, as the ones they have may no longer be weather appropriate.

In our class, there is a HUGE interest for bugs, birds, animals, and everything outdoors. This excitement has turned into curiosity. The preschoolers have loved hunting around the yard for different bugs, sticks, and leaves from around the nearby trees.

We have been enjoying blowing bubbles, drawing with chalk, and water play during outdoor activities.

The children have really been enjoying the camping centre in our classroom. We have witnessed role-playing, collaborating, and problem solving, as they work together and use their creativity in this imaginative play.

With summer break right around the corner please let us know if you are planning any summer vacations, so we can staff accordingly.

Story Book will also be closed Wednesday, July 1st for Canada Day. We hope you all have a wonderful holiday! We would also like to wish all our Dads and Grandpas a Happy Father’s Day!

Preschool Room #3 News

June 2026

We can’t believe that June is already here and summer is quickly approaching! With summer approaching comes summer vacations. Please let us know of any vacations you may be taking. Also, if you know your child’s last day before they head off to school, please let us know.

We plan to take advantage of the warmer weather with picnic lunches and snacks. As well, we plan to enjoy warm weather activities such as chalk, bubbles, golf, and painting with water. Please ensure your child has a labelled hat. We would also like to remind all parents that we do provide sunscreen. The brand is Degil Sun and it is SPF 30. If for any reason you would prefer us to not apply this sunscreen, we would be happy to apply an alternative sunscreen provided by you.

Over the next few months, we will focus on skills that will help with kindergarten readiness to create a smooth transition to “big school.” Some examples include writing and recognizing their names, recognizing letters and their sounds, zipping sweaters, packing a backpack, and opening containers. These are just some ideas if you would like to practice at home as well.

We would also like to wish a Happy Father’s Day to all our Dads and Grandpas!

Reminder: We will be closed Wednesday, July 1st for Canada Day. Enjoy!
