Preschool Room #2 News
May 2026
Spring is in full bloom; the children have been excited to go outside everyday and explore that changes this season has to offer. They have been busy picking dandelions, finding bugs and checking on our robin nest on our pergola. We were lucky enough to watch the nest grow as the robins built it, and we even got to see the little blue eggs. We are taking this teachable moment to learn about how nests are made, why the mommy sits on her eggs, and what is happening inside the eggs before they hatch.
Throughout the spring season, we have been very interested in animals, hibernation, and bugs. The children have loved our animal safari we created inside our classroom. Working together to hunt and find all the hidden animals has created such great teamwork and communication between the children.
With the warmer weather slowly approaching, we would like to remind you to make sure your child has weather appropriate clothing (as we go outside for an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon).
Just a reminder that we are closed Monday, May 18th for Victoria Day. We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday.

Last month we celebrated a couple of our friend’s birthdays. This month we have seven more to celebrate. We would also like to welcome Miss Sarah and our eight new friends to our class as it continues to grow.
The children are continuing to look for worms during the rainy weather days. They have also noticed other bugs such as moths, bees, and potato bugs as they start to make an appearance. The children have been excited about the bird’s nest in the yard. They have been looking for the bird and been asking if there are any eggs in the nest.
This month we will be participating in a scavenger hunt, and we hope to have more picnics like the one we did in April, as we had so much fun. We will also be discussing and preparing for Mother’s Day and like to wish all our moms a happy Mother’s Day.
Reminder we will be closed Monday, May 18th for Victoria Day. Hope you al enjoy your long weekend.
