August 2026
We are halfway through the summer and have enjoyed hearing all the adventures that the children have gone on with their families. They have come in excited to talk about their camping trips, beach days, and airplane vacations.
This upcoming month we are exploring the children’s interest of the outdoors by having camping circles. We will be learning about forest animals, singing campfire songs, and talking about camping tools.
If your families are planning any more vacations for the summer, please be sure to let the office know so they can plan accordingly.
Just a reminder Story Book will be closed on Monday, September 7th for Labour Day. Hope you all have a wonderful last month of summer!

August 2026
July was a fun filled month for the children in our room. The children had lots of fun learning about all the different things the month had to offer.
We started off the July talking about Canada Day, we learned about all the different places, animals, and special things you might find all throughout Canada. Inukshuk’s and beavers were the favourites among the children. The children even tried to build some inukshuk’s and beaver dams with the blocks in the classroom.
With Summer in Essex, comes everyone’s favourite, the Fun Fest! The children were excited to share about the rides they went on, the fancy cars they saw, and especially about the fire trucks in the parade. To expand on their interest, in July we talked about the different community helpers you might find around town. Focusing mostly on firefighters and police officers and some different ways to stay safe.
We finished off the month focusing on the summer season and all the fun things we can do during it like going to the beach, camping or hanging out at the pool. We also talked about the different sweet treats we can enjoy when the weather gets hot.
We want to wish all our friends that are on their way to kindergarten good luck and a heartfelt goodbye, we have had so much fun learning with you and watching you grow. We can’t wait to see what this next chapter has to offer.
Reminder Story Book Early Learning Centre will be closed Monday, September 7th for Labour Day.
