We are happy to report that our March Break themes were definitely a hit amongst the students that chose to join us for the week! We had special visitors in to read stories and join in

our play. We had hula dance lessons, made fruit kabobs, and went on a leprechaun hunt. We did everything we could think of to catch one of those sneaky little guys! There was never a dull

moment here in the kindergarten room! With almost 100% participation, our JK/SK crew “Rocked Our Socks” for World Down Syndrome Day to celebrate those individuals rockin’ an extra chromosome.

We’re hoping that we’ve seen the last of the snow, ice, and wind for a very long while, as winter seemed to have lasted forever! However, we ARE expecting to have some rainy days

this Spring as we’ve learned that “April showers bring May flowers”. Our kindergarten crew will be tracking the weather again this month to see just how much rain it takes to produce

bright colourful flowers in our gardens. Easter weekend will soon be here, and our kindergarten group have already started to get into the festive spirit! We’ve decorated paper eggs, painted bunnies, read lots of Easter stories, and have practiced finding hidden eggs with a mock Easter Egg Hunt! A favourite game at circle time is trying to guess which egg the chick is hiding in. Still to come is learning the bunny hop and matching upper and lower case letters, Easter style! Story Book Early Learning Centre – Latchkey program will be closed on Good Friday (April 7th) and on Easter Monday (April 10th) to celebrate the holiday with family and loved ones. We hope that all of you enjoy the long weekend as well! April is such a busy month full of birthday celebrations in our classroom. And according to our “Every Day Is A Holiday” calendar, there are several other dates that we’ll be making note of too!

APRIL 17th is Bat Appreciation Day and although some of us may not want to celebrate these pesky critters, others may welcome them into our classroom once again!

APRIL 18th  is National Animal Cracker Day and Mr. Ian has agreed to provide us with a tasty afternoon treat!

APRIL 21st  is Kindergarten Day where we plan to celebrate all of the things that make our kindergarten crew so absolutely AMAZING!!!
