Kindergarten News

February 2018

Last month our Kindergarten friends showed a great interest in owls. The children enjoyed learning about the different species of owls, when they are awake and what type of food they eat. We built owl habitats and created beautiful owl art. To add to their interest, we received a new game called “Owly Owl”, where we build different types of owls out of blocks.
The children also showed an interest in snowmen (not surprising with all the snow we had in January). We read books about sneezing snowmen and snowmen who worked in construction. We also created snowmen using cotton balls and we designed outfits for Frosty and all his friends to wear.

For the month of February, we will start to talk about Valentines Day and we will follow the children’s lead in our ideas for our classroom.

Just a reminder that Friday February 16th is a P.D for the Public School Board. Please let the staff know of your childcare needs. Before and after school care will still be provided for children who attend the Catholic Board. S.B.E.L.C will be closed Monday February 19th for Family Day. Enjoy.
