Infant Room News

So far so good! Recently the babies have been able to enjoy morning and afternoon walks again after the interesting April weather we had. They are also loving the climbing structures in our classroom. We have encouraged the babies to climb up and then slide down the slide. This allows for an easier flow of movement on the equipment.

We have some real social butterflies in the infant room. They love to say “hi” and “bye” to whoever walks in the door along with smiles and waves that are priceless. The language is blossoming with so many of them. Simple words are repeated but the spontaneous language is really increasing. We encourage words such as “ball”, “bubbles”, “done” and “more”; many will do “mmm”, particularly when eating. The explosion of language is such a fun stage in development.

Please Note: Sunscreen will be provided by Story Book Early Learning Centre. The brand name is Croc Bloc. It is a paba free and hypo-allergenic with an SPF of 30. Sunscreen will be applied to all exposed skin, including face, tops of ears, arms, legs and bare shoulders. It will be effective from 10:00am to 4:00pm. If you do not want us to apply our sunscreen to your child, please notify staff and apply your sunscreen at home before your child arrives at school.

Please take the time to complete the re-registration forms sent home to ensure your spot for September. This will help us with our class plans for 2018-2019.
