October 2026
Welcome October! All our preschool friends are really starting to notice all the signs of fall and are loving our fall circle times, as well as fall artwork and light table activities. We have been enjoying hearing their stories about going to the apple orchard and pumpkin patch! We have even opened our own apple orchard inside the classroom! The children are loving collecting apples in baskets and cooking up yummy apple treats in the kitchen.
With the weather getting colder, we ask that you please send a sweater or jacket for outside play. This is also a great time to make sure that your child has weather-appropriate spare clothes as well.
This month we will be working on self help skills. This includes encouraging the children to put on their own socks and shoes, pulling up their own pants, and putting on their coats using the flip method. We know this sometimes takes a little longer when getting ready, but they are important skills to learn. Thanks for your cooperation!
We do not wear our costumes at school; however, we do ask that you join us in wearing black and orange on Friday, October 30th. If you choose to send treats with your child, please ensure that they are peanut and tree nut free.
We also would like to invite our families to join us for our Halloween open house which will take place on Tuesday, October 27th from 6:00-7:00pm. We invite everyone to wear their costumes and go trick-or-treating at Story Book.
Reminder we are closed on Monday, October 12th for the Thanksgiving holiday. We hope you all enjoy the extra time with your families.
