Happy Fall! The cooler weather is approaching and soon we will start to see all the signs of fall. Please remember that with the cooler weather to check your child’s cubby for appropriate spare clothes.
We are happy to report that our new school year is off to a great start. All the children are adjusting well and are having a lot of fun with their friends.
During the month of September, we focused on “Me”. We talked about our physical characteristics, our families, our friends and all our likes and dislikes. The children got to share some of their favourite things with their ‘All About Me Bags’. We loved hearing them share all their stories!
Halloween is coming and the children have already been talking about their costumes.
With that, we would like to formally invite you to our Halloween themed Open House on Tuesday, October 27th; where your child can wear their costumes if they choose and visit each classroom for some special treats. Please note that although we love to see their costumes, they are not required.
We will be continuing our Halloween celebrations on Friday, the 30th with Orange & Black day. We please ask that costumes remain at home that day. If you choose to send treats with your child (although not required), please ensure they are peanut and tree-nut free.
Just a final reminder, Story Book will be closed on Monday, October 12th for Thanksgiving. We hope you have a wonderful holiday with your families and a very spooky filled month!

Our first few weeks together have been a blast!
This month we will be focusing on creating a classroom family and getting to know one another better. We want everyone to have fun learning and feel welcome in our classroom!
We have been talking about the first signs of fall and the different activities you can do during the changing of seasons. We enjoyed exploring apple picking, hayrides, pumpkin patches, and we focused heavily on apples and their life cycle.
Throughout the year we will be focusing on different kindergarten readiness skills. The focus this month is name recognition, we will be identifying the first letter of our names and the sound it makes. The next step is identifying the rest of the letters in our names and starting the process of writing them on our own. This is a skill that will be used daily in kindergarten.
During outside time the preschoolers have been noticing the changes of the season and are excited for all the magic fall brings. During this month, we will continue our interest into learning about the leaves changing colours, Thanksgiving, Halloween and more. We have a fun month ahead of us!
Storybook will be closed on October 12th for Thanksgiving.
Our Halloween open house is October 27th from 6-7 pm, joins us for some trick or treating fun! We will also finish off celebrating the Halloween season on October 30th by wearing black and orange, we please ask for no costumes that day.
