Kindergarten News
July 2026
Summer is officially upon us, and we are already full swing into our calendar of activities! The entire centre will celebrate Canada’s birthday a day early by proudly wearing our red and white attire.
Just a reminder that we will be closed on Wednesday for Canada Day. We’ll be soaking up the sun for the rest of the week, as much as we are able to. Gym activities are always a fun alternative when the outdoor temperatures soar too high.
Our first full week of July will get a bit silly, as we’ve come up with five different theme days for Wacky Week. Pop in and you’ll see anything from silly socks to crazy hair, and an end-of-the-week Teddy Bear Picnic in our P.J.’s!
We are fortunate enough to welcome back Ms. Hannah, this summer, for our weekly dance lessons, and the creative Ms. Daisy for some face painting fun!
Mid July, we’ll be transforming our classroom into our very own private beach, a campsite (complete with tents), and an indoor carnival. A glow party and some playground fun will also keep us busy!
Members of the Essex Fire Department will turn their water hoses into a gigantic sprinkler over our soccer field for a fun-filled, soaking wet morning. We will also be walking as a class to the fire hall to check out the equipment and go for a ride on the trucks! As well, our Kindergarten crew will get to walk to the library this year to pick out some books to bring back to the classroom.
National Vanilla Ice Cream Day will be a perfect excuse to make our own sundaes for a cool tasty treat.
Our kindergarten crew will explore the eight planets of the solar system and then dive deep to learn about the five levels of the ocean. Of course, we will once again become “bioluminescent “(one of their very favourite days!) and see what kind of interesting creatures we’ll find in the darkest of waters.
We’ll finish off our month, with a little pirate fun! We’ll create our own pirate names, make custom eye patches, and even learn some of their special lingo. Might we find a treasure map and search for a buried treasure? Stay tuned!
Please watch the kindergarten activities calendar, for a couple of special lunch days (provided by Story Book Early Learning Centre). As a reminder, we will also be closed Monday, August 3rd for the Civic Holiday.
