Kindergarten News

Well, we survived all the Christmas hustle and bustle and were able to spend some quality down time with family and friends. December was such a whirlwind of holiday festivities and truly magical moments.

Once again, we were able to surprise the residents of Iler Lodge with plenty of Christmas crafts and creations. This year, however, the children had the opportunity to deliver their gifts in person and even stay to enjoy some music and carolling with the seniors. There were plenty of smiles to go around.

We are also pleased to report that Sparkle has returned safe and sound to the North Pole. After entertaining our kindergarten crew with his crazy antics, this little elf is probably due for a long winter’s nap!

As we jump into the New Year, our JK/SK group will be exploring the Arctic and other animals that enjoy the cold. We’ll be talking more about animals that hibernate, migrate, or adapt to our winter weather.

According to our Holiday-A-Day calendar, there will be several reasons to celebrate in January. On the 13th, we’ll have a little fun with the rubber duck carnival game on National Rubber Ducky Day. How do we plan for “National Nothing Day” on the 16th??? A special afternoon snack will definitely be served on “National Popcorn Day”. Two back-to-back days (Penguin Awareness Day and Squirrel Appreciation Day) will likely bring some interesting facts and perhaps some fun games to our circle time activities.

The first P.A. Day of the new year is scheduled for Friday, January 16th. Please let us know as soon as possible, if your child will require care on that day. Thank you!

From our amazing crew to all of you . . . Happy New Year!
