This month we will be discussing winter, the holidays, and different traditions that are celebrated. But who are we kidding the whole month will be about Santa! The children are showing their excitement, as they are already talking about what they would like Santa to bring them. Many have already seen him with all the local parades underway.

All the children insist they have been good this year, but only time will tell. Our friendly elf Tinsel will be helping us keep an eye on them and reporting back to Santa. Our elf does not like to cause trouble or get into it. She prefers to hang out in higher, unreachable locations so there is no chance of her losing her magic.

Thanks to everyone that has brought in snow pants, boots, hats, and mittens. Thank you also for labelling them with your child’s name, this helps to keep things organized. The children sometimes put their belongings into the wrong cubby or basket as they dress and undress and put their things away. If items are labelled the teachers can easily get them into the correct baskets and avoid lost articles.

We will once again be donating to local children’s charities on behalf of our Story Book Family. If you can, we would appreciate any new items such as toys, hats, mittens etc. and/or canned goods. There will be a box outside the office. Donations will be accepted until December 10th.

Story Book ELC will be closed Wednesday, December 24th until January 1st. We will reopen on Friday, January 2nd. We hope that you all enjoy your holidays. We look forward to hearing all the children’s stories when they return.

Please stay tuned for some special Christmas themed days: Christmas accessory day, hat day, Christmas shirt day, pyjama day and a red and green day.

Just an FYI, the Essex Santa parade is Saturday, December 13th at 6:30pm. Dress warm if you plan to attend.
