Kindergarten News

The month of October is upon us, as is the season of Fall. Our group has had many discussions about apple picking, falling leaves, and going to the pumpkin patch. Many of the children have spent their weekends visiting these establishments and experiencing all they have to offer.

As more and more spooky things are popping up in store windows and in our neighbourhood, our Kindergarten crew is growing more excited about the Halloween season. We’ve already heard of several costume ideas, favourite trick-or-treat snacks, and decorating that is happening at school and at home. We’ll be reading lots of Halloween stories and making our favourite Monster Stew. The Monster Mash will become a regular part of our afternoon circles, and Jack-o’-lanterns may start popping up on our classroom bulletin boards. There are also several other special days to celebrate this month.

We’ll be closed on Monday, October 13th for the Thanksgiving holiday. We do hope that you enjoy this time off with friends/family.

There is another scheduled P.A. Day on Friday, October 17th. Please let us know as soon as possible if your child will require a space on that particular day.

National Dessert Day falls on Tuesday the 14th, so we’re hoping for a special afternoon treat. National Black Cat Day is on the 27th of October, and Candy Corn Day falls on Thursday, October 30th. We’ll find out if anyone truly enjoys this festive treat. Halloween falls on a Friday, for an extra fun end to the week!
