The month of February is finally here, and with that has come a lot of snow! The friends in our kindergarten room have been SO excited to get outside and play in the white fluffy stuff! We’ve taken a poll and their favourite wintertime activity is digging and crawling through snow tunnels. A favourite book during circle time has been Robert Munsch’s “So Much Snow.” The extremely chilly weather has kept us from venturing outside lately, but we have enjoyed games involving our “indoor” snowballs, including a mock snowball fight.
This month is all about friendship and kindness, which is nothing new to our Kindergarten crew. Our bunch continuously gets caught being kind and helpful, and we’ve had several “chart fillers” lately! Keep up the magnificent work! We’ll have plenty of opportunities to demonstrate these terms, as we celebrate “Make A Friend Day” on February 11th, followed by “World Kindness Day” on the 17th. Being kind is such an easy thing to do, and even simplest of gestures make a difference! Please join us in spreading smiles!
In between these special days, we’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day with our classmates. Dressed in pink and red, we’ll play games, read stories, and even make a special craft for our loved ones!
Here in the kindergarten room, we’ve chosen another couple of days to celebrate. With permission, we’ve asked Mr. Ian to help us with an exciting afternoon snack on National Tortilla Day. Chips and salsa, anyone?
Ms. Kelly’s kittens (the adventures of Toby Jack and Baby Isla) are ALWAYS a topic of conversation. However, on “Love Your Pet Day” everyone will get the opportunity to share photos and stories of the animals they have at home or would someday like to have.
National Polar Bear Day finishes off our month. We’ll learn more fun facts about these furry white creatures and all the things they like to do.
Just a reminder that Friday, February 27th is a scheduled P.D. Day. Please let us know as soon as possible if your child will require care on that day. We also will be closed on Monday, February 16th for Family Day. Hope you have a wonderful day with your families.
