Kindergarten News

We’re looking ahead at a VERY full calendar for the month of August, here in the Kindergarten Room.  We kicked off the first day of the month with a teddy bear picnic!  The bees and wet grass (from recent rain) kept us indoors, but we still had lots of fun.

Upon our return from the Civic Holiday weekend, the kindergarten crew will be walking across town to visit at the fire station. We’ll be learning all about the equipment and gear, putting out pretend fires, and even riding in the fire trucks!

The firefighters will also be joining us for another fun-filled water day mid month.  The students LOVE to try and get the teachers wet, and with a little help from the fire dept., they usually succeed!

We’ve got yoga lessons, dance classes, face painting, some special lunch days, and a visit from our local librarian scheduled for this month.

We’ll also be adopting some jungle animals, dressing like our favourite Disney characters, and exploring the solar system!

We’ll finish the summer celebrating all our favourite things!  Our kindergarten friends will have a P.J. Day, and  a Wild & Wacky Day (where anything goes)! Our Hawaiian Luau is always a hit, with fruit kabobs, and hula dance lessons. On our final Friday (before the Labour Day weekend), we’ll have our Summer End Celebration, with lots of singing, dancing, and likely lots of laughing!
