Toddler Room #1

Wow, February is already here! We hope everyone is doing well and keeping healthy as we enter the second month of the new year. This month we will focus on friendship and family. We will create valentines for our loved ones, as well learn about heart shapes.

We have some new children to welcome into our classroom, so it’s a good time to talk about friendship. We will also read books on kindness and sharing.

Circle time is always filled with fun activities and stories. The children also enjoy dancing to name games and playing freeze dance. A favourite song you can sing at home is :

Skinnamarinky dinky dink
Skinnamarinky do
I love you

Skinnamarinky dinky dink
Skinnamarinky do
I love you

I love you in the morning
And in the afternoon
I love you in the evening
Underneath the moon

Skinnamarinky dinky dink
Skinnamarinky do
I love you (I love you)

Reminder: Please wear red and pink on Monday, February 14th  to celebrate Valentine’s Day . Also, we will be closed Monday, February 21st for Family Day.

Toddler Room #2

What a quick month it was. We had a lot of fun discussing winter. Snowballs, snowmen, polar bear, penguins, etc. The toddlers enjoyed our snow and ice indoor sensory play the most.

As we move into February we will be talking about our families, friendships, and of course Valentine’s Day.

We hear a lot of feedback from our parents that the toddler often play “circle time” at home. The toddlers love large group time. They all sit and sing our opening song, waiting in anticipation for what the teacher has planned for them. Flannel stories, books, active games, matching games and especially name games are some of there favourite.
