It’s hard to believe the year is ending. Christmas will soon be here, and we are extremely excited for a FUN filled month! It is going to be so much fun putting up our tree and decorating the room, as well as listening to Christmas carols (which we may have already started doing) . We are really looking forward to seeing the magic of Christmas through your children. During this month, small group and large group time will be spent learning all about this special holiday .

In the month of November, we learnt about transportation as well as we continued to talk about colours.

We will once again be donating to local children’s charities on behalf of our Story Book Family. If you can, we would appreciate any new items such as toys, hats, mittens etc. and/or canned goods. There will be a box outside the office. Donations will be accepted until December 10th.

Please let staff know if there are any changes to your child’s schedule this month, and if your child will not be attending during the first week of January.

Reminder that we’re closed Wednesday, December 24th and we re-open Tuesday, January 2nd. We would like to wish all our families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !

It’s our favourite time of year! Soon our classroom will be in full swing for Christmas, learning all about this special holiday. We are excited for all the Christmas music, books, holiday sensory activities, and crafts. We are also excited for our classroom tree, and who could forget our annual door decorating contest. It’s such a magical month and we love being apart of your child’s experience.

In November, we talked a lot about the snow. Then we moved right into transportation when the snow melted. It’s always a fun topic that the toddlers enjoy. We are also working on our colours, counting and the first letter in our name!

The wintry weather is officially here.  Thank you so much for sending warm winter attire and boots. It makes our outside transition so much easier not having to look for extras. We encourage you to continue working with your children on attempting to put on their winter gear (with assistance). Working on self-help skills is a focus in our classroom. Fostering our toddler’s independence helps to give them the foundation for lifelong skills and gives them the confidence to try new things.

Just a reminder: Story Book E.L.C. will be closed Wednesday, December 24th and will re-open Friday, January 2nd. We want to wish all our families a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
