Toddler Room #1

November 2019

We hope everyone had a fun Halloween! We enjoyed being able to see the children dressed in their Halloween costumes at our annual Open House. Thank you to all who attended, and we hope you enjoyed seeing your child’s classroom and all their artwork.

The weather is starting to get cooler. Please make sure to check your child’s basket for appropriate extra school clothes for the chillier weather. As well, please make sure to label all coats, hats, mittens, boots, etc.

Last month the children enjoyed exploring autumn activities such as the fall sensory bin with leaves, acorns, scoops and corn kernels. They also enjoyed making all their Halloween crafts to decorate our room.

Remembrance Day is Monday, November 11th. Story Book is still open however this may be a holiday for some. Please let us know if this changes your child’s schedule in any way.

Toddler Room #2

November 2019

The fall season is here. With the cooler weather coming, please provide appropriate spare clothing to keep at school. Please remember to label ALL your child’s clothing including coats, hats, mittens, etc.

During the last few weeks, the children have been interested in matching, counting and stacking. We have been having lots of fun doing activities that supported this interest such as matching games and providing different materials for them to experiment sorting by different characteristics. We also had fun stacking different kinds of blocks, cups and shapes.

Over the month of October, we talked about the fall season and all the activities this season brings. The children learned about the meaning of Thanksgiving and all the fun that goes with Halloween. We will continue during the month of November to explore more about what happens in the Fall.
