Springs greatest joy beyond a doubt is when it brings the children out.” – Edgar Guest

HELLO SPRING! We missed our green grass, warm sunshine, and beautiful flowers. This May in our school-age room we are very excited to get outdoors and explore nature. We have recently begun to discuss signs of spring; flowers blooming, birds chirping, the sun setting later, and the return of so many creatures and their new babies.

Speaking of babies, Mrs. Mandy is overjoyed to be expecting the arrival of her baby this September. The children in our school-age room have been so eager to name the baby, ‘watch it grow,’ identify the gender, and give her the best parental advice.

Later this month, we will be introducing a system where the children can earn tokens towards ‘desk pets’ and accessories. Through this experience the children will have the opportunity to learn how to manage their money and make an earning for all their hard work. This specific topic of finances and spending has been a particular interest of the children for quite some time. As a team, we thought it would be a fun way to learn and expand on such essential skills.

Furthermore, as a group we love to create our own art. Recently, we have been engaging in a lot of open ended art projects such as pom pom pets, and life sized art. With this observation, we cannot wait to open a 24/7 art cart where the children will be free to create any project they desire.

I’m growing like a flower,

With all your love and care,

All the hugs and kisses

Make the good times that we share.

I’m growing like a flower,

We know that is true,

So I just wanted to say

How much I LOVE YOU!

We want to wish all our families a very happy Mothers Day.

Just a reminder we will be closed Monday, May 23rd for Victoria Day. We hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday.
