The Children are settling nicely to the routine in our room. The teachers are getting to know each child and form a relationship with them. This is an important part of learning in young children. There are many different personalities and interests which make each day eventful.

We have exciting news in Preschool #2. The children adopted a caterpillar to care for. After some research, we discovered that our caterpillar is a Black Swallowtail. We fed him lots of dill and recently he created a chrysalis. Much learning has happened in the process. We acted out the life cycle of a butterfly in dramatic play, we explored the line of symmetry creating butterfly wings, we counted butterfly eggs, pollenated flowers with yellow pom poms, and we watched the transformation from caterpillar to chrysalis. We will continue to watch and learn. Hopefully, a Black Swallowtail Butterfly will be born

This year our Annual Open House will be held Tuesday October 23rd, 2018 from 6:30- 7:30 pm. It will be Halloween themed and the children will have the opportunity to trick or treat to each classroom, costumes are optional. Hope you can join us for some fun!
