We can’t believe summer is coming to an end!
Hopefully Mother Nature doesn’t hear that it’s already September and continues to bring us beautiful weather.
It’s time to say goodbye to some of our older friends that are moving on to Kindergarten. The teachers at Story Book watched most of you grow from infants. Even though it is sad to see you all go, we are excited for you as you head on to your next adventure. We are so proud of you all and know that you will thrive in big school.
It’s been lots of fun in our room the last month. Based on the children’s suggestions, we turned our dramatic play into a bug discovery centre. We had magnifying glasses, a microscope, bug x-ray pictures, and many different types of bugs and insects. We even went on a bug hunt and searched around the room for different bugs.
We also got the chance to have some monarch butterfly caterpillars in our room; we watched them eat and eat and EAT. Then it was time to go into their chrysalis and change into beautiful butterflies. Mrs. Steph took them home for the weekend and they were ready to be released; she took some pictures and videos and showed them to us the next day. What a special experience!
We look forward to September and all the magic that fall brings. The children have noticed some of the trees starting to change and the cold chill in the air. We can’t wait for all the activities we can do!
Reminder Story Book will be closed on Monday, October 13th for Thanksgiving.
