Preschool Room 2
This past month our preschoolers have had a lot of fun playing, creating and exploring. We wrapped up the summer by discovering different constellations, planets, and spaceships, splashing around during our Water Days, and riding the bus to school in our dramatic play centre.
The children were very interested in our solar system while blasting off into space in our cardboard rocket ship. We learned about different constellations (Orion’s Belt, the Big Dipper, and the Little Dipper), sang some fun new songs about the planets, and read stories about astronauts in space!
This month we had two marvellous Water Days where the children played with the Slip’n Slide, water games and enjoyed the local fire department, who came and sprayed us with their fire hose! It was a great way to beat the summer heat!
As the month came to an end, we noticed more and more that the children were talking about back to school shopping (getting their lunch bags and backpacks) so we transformed our dramatic play area into a school bus and a backpack/lunch bag packing centre. The children absolutely loved it and were even more excited to go to school-pretend school and real!
We are so excited for our Preschoolers as they set off on their new adventure to “Big School” but we will miss them very much. It has been a wonderful year watching them grow and we know they will continue to grow in their new schools.
We would also like to welcome our new Preschool friends and families who will be moving up to our Preschool 2 room for the next year. Miss Jeraka and Miss Mickayla are so excited to get to know you!
