Preschool Room #1 News

October is here and soon we will start to see the wonder of fall. Along with the leaves changing colour, comes the cooler weather. Hopefully the cool weather will help the bees to move along and find a new place to hang out. Also, please check to make sure that your child’s spare set of clothing is appropriate for the season.

We are having a great start to the new school year. We have new friends in our room, so we are helping the children to learn each other’s names and adjust to the new routines. Having our friends/siblings that just went to JK playing outside our window is fun for us as well, they all like to come and say Hi.

We are always working on self-help skills, encouraging the children to put on their own shoes, pull up their own pants and put on their own coats using the flipping method. They are very good at trying and it fosters independence. They are so proud of themselves when they can accomplish these skills.

We have heard some talk about Halloween and costumes; we do not wear costumes at school as it can be scary for some. Please dress your child in Black and Orange on Monday October 31st.

Just a reminder we will be closed on Monday, October 10th for Thanksgiving.

Save the date: Open House Thursday October 27th, more details to follow!
