Preschool Room #1 News

Let’s hope spring has finally arrived and we have no more colder days. The children have been loving the warmer weather and loved getting to play outside more. The children have also noticed some insects crawling all over the slide and the wooden stools outside, which spiked their interest in insects. In the month of April, we were talking about the alphabet and insects. We also talked a lot about the Easter Bunny. We are so glad the Easter Bunny was good to everyone.

In April we saw a lot of signs that Spring was here. We saw birds flying in the sky, insects in the yard and some flowers starting to pop up out of the ground. We are all happy that Spring is here. During the month of May, we will be digging deeper in their interest of Spring.

With the weather warming up we will start applying sunscreen. Story Book will provide the sunscreen; we have an unscented paba-free hypo-allergenic SPF 30 broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen. If you have chosen to use your own sunblock, we ask that you apply it at home before arriving in the morning.

We would also like to wish all Mother’s a very happy Mother’s Day!

Just a reminder that Story Book will be closed for Victoria Day, Monday May 22nd.

Preschool Room #2 News

We have been very busy in Preschool #2 caring for our stuffed animals in our Veterinary center. We have been learning what tools are used and how to use them. There has also been discussion about how to care for your pets such as how every pet needs to have food, water, exercise, and love to be happy and healthy. Many of the children have started using the tools on each other. Maybe our Veterinarian clinic will become a Doctor’s office very soon.

We have also been expanding our interest in insects.  We have been doing many activities that help us learn about all the different insects as well as their different habitats, parts of their body, what they do, and many other fun facts.

We are going to be transitioning into our “signs of Spring” interest. Many of the children have been noticing the changes that have been happening with our new season. We are excited to do all the fun activities that support this interest.

Just a reminder that we will be closed on Monday, May 22nd for Victoria Day. We hope you enjoy your day with your family.

Just a reminder that we encourage independence through out the day. Please keep this in mind when dressing your little one. Rompers, overalls, and belts makes it very hard for the children to practice their self-help skills in the bathroom.

We would also like to wish all Mothers a very happy Mother’s Day!
