Preschool Room #1

October has arrived and along with it came the cooler weather. Please ensure that your child has an appropriate set of extra clothes for the weather. Hopefully we will get a few warmer days to enjoy.
The bees seem to be enjoying this weather as well,  we are hoping it will soon be time for them to move along. We are trying to remind the children to leave them alone to reduce the chance of getting stung. Crossing our fingers, they find a new spot to hang out soon.
We have already heard talk about Halloween and what costumes the children are going to be wearing or want to wear. Please note that we do not dress in costumes at school as it can be scary for some of the children. We will do an orange and black day on the 29th to celebrate. We will spend lots of time talking about Halloween in the weeks leading up to this fun day. If you would like to send treats with your child, you are free to do so but keep in mind that we are a nut free school.
Just a reminder that Story Book will be closed on Monday October 11th  for Thanksgiving.

Preschool Room #2

We are off to an exciting start here in preschool #2! This month we have welcomed some new families and the children that have moved up into the senior preschool classroom. The children are settling into their new routines, and we are so excited to get to know each child.

We started off the year by expanding on the children’s interest in animals. As children moved into our class, we noticed their interest in our farm, zoo, and ocean animals. Some activities involved sorting different types of animals and discussing their physical differences. We have also discovered the children’s love for art! The children have created animal footprints with paint and practiced their fine motor skills by decorating animals and cutting grass for their animals to hide in.

We look forward to a new month of exploration and adventures as we transition into the fall season. There are so many learning opportunities that come with the change in season, and we can not wait to see what the children discover. We have already shared Halloween costume ideas. We would like to remind parents that we will have orange and black day on October 29th in celebration of Halloween.

We would also like to remind parents as the weather becomes cooler to make sure your children are dress accordingly. Our outside time is first thing in the morning so please make sure your child has a sweater or coat. This is also a good time to make sure your child’s change of clothes kept here at school are appropriate for the season.

Reminder: We will be closed Monday October 11th for Thanksgiving. We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday.
