“April Showers bring May flowers.”
We are all looking forward to observing all the signs of Spring that are starting to arrive.
In Preschool 2, we traded out our bug lab for a kitchen, and the children have enjoyed cooking for us. They have been creating many different dishes for us to try, but cake and ice cream are definitely their favourites.
We also have had many special days recently. We had fun celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. On this day, we wore green and went on a hunt looking for the leprechaun that showed up in our room. We also celebrated “World Down Syndrome Day” by rocking our crazy socks and talking about what makes each of us special and unique.
Last month, we took part in Hats on for Health Care to raise money for Windsor Regional Hospital. Story Book proudly wore our hats and raised a total of $175.00 Thanks to everyone who donated!
During the month of April, we are going to shift our focus to spring and all it has to offer, as we plan on talking about different plants and animals we might encounter. The weather is also something we will be discussing with the children. We are planning to keep track of the different types of weather we see this spring and the ones we experience the most.
We would also like to remind parents that we will be closed Friday, April 3rd and Monday, April 6th for Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Spring has finally sprung! We are so excited to start seeing warmer days even if they bring the rain with them. After one very rainy day in March and the appearance of worms galore, the children have put together that rain = worms. Whenever we get even a small amount of rain, they are on the hunt for worms, turning over logs, digging through leaves, and scouring the grass.

Easter was also a big topic of discussion during the month of April. The kids were anxiously awaiting the arrival of our next holiday and were thrilled to talk about the Easter Bunny and what happens when he visits. We can’t wait to hear all the stories about everyone’s holiday weekends and their visits from the Easter Bunny.
We are also planning a Picnic Day towards the end of April, as our Holiday-A-Day calendar informed us National Picnic Day is April 24th. We will let you know more details as we get closer to the day!
