September 2026
We’re reflecting on the summer of 2026, as it brought so much fun and excitement to our Kindergarten crew. We went on many new adventures (to the library, Ice Cool Treats, and making our own pizzas at Dominoes). Perhaps our favourite activity to date was a walk to the Essex Splash Pad. The smiles, laughter, and fun were beyond measure! Feel free to check out the photo collages on our classroom bulletin boards!
And talk about “smarts”! These children were so into learning all about our special themes. They can name the eight planets of the solar system, tell you what happened to Uranus when it was hit by an asteroid, and explain why Mars is the rusty dusty planet. They can also tell you all about the okapi (a very unique jungle animal) and reveal what a momma quokka does to her babies. If you want to decipher which dinosaurs are herbivorous, carnivorous, or omnivorous, just ask our crew! They’ll also tell you what a palaeontologist does for a living.
Oh, and the food. We can’t forget the special food days. These kids can eat! Watermelon day was a huge hit, but our “make-your-own sundae bar was an absolute favourite. The hot dogs, subs, and chips were never turned down either!
We’re looking forward to all things Hawaiian, at our summer end luau. We’ll be taking hula lessons, have limbo contests, and making fruit kabobs (as fruit is always more fun on a stick)!
It’s hard to believe that our summer has almost come to an end! We’re squeezing as much as we can into our last few days together. As sad as we are, to see some of our friends moving on, we know that they are ready to do some amazing things in Grade One. Our group of recently promoted SKs are eager to show our new friends the ropes and help them adjust to the brand-new world of kindergarten.
Let the 2026-27 school year begin! Our JK/SKs are ready for another amazing and memorable year!
