Kindergarten News

April 2026

March came in and out again in a flurry of activity. As our class predicted, the old wives’ tale proved to be TRUE, and the month ended as a lion (opposite of how it started). Our March break was busy as usual, chasing leprechauns, making our own clubhouse, dance classes, and having some sock puppet fun!

We are very much looking forward to April and all the exciting things that come with it. Easter weekend will be here before you know it, and we are already seeing signs of chicks and bunnies around our room.

We are enjoying having fun Easter stories, taking part in plastic egg races, and making colorful egg crafts. Our kindergarten crew is especially looking forward to our annual Easter egg hunt! Just as a reminder that Story Book Early Learning Centre will be closed for the holiday on Good Friday (April 3rd) and Easter Monday (April 6th).

On Wednesday, April 8th our curious crew will be learning all about the most unique animals on “Zoo Lover’s Day”. Have you ever heard of a capybara or an okapi?

We will anxiously be awaiting to see if any of the teachers wear their pj’s to school on “Wear you PJs to Work Day”. Do you think they will bring their teddy bears and blankets, too?

You’ll also catch us celebrating our AMAZING class, on April 21st for “National Kindergarten Day”! Hands down, we have the coolest bunch of JK/SKs around!

Sshhh, don’t tell anyone, but we’re also hoping to sneak some special treats into our classroom for “National Jellybean Day” on the 22nd of April. They’re pretty tiny, so we are hoping no one will be on us at snack time on this day.

We’ll bring our month to an end, with all things SUPERHEROES. Tuesday, the 28th is officially “National Superhero Day”, but we’ll be talking about all kinds of heroes that week. Not all heroes wear capes and may know some of our own. Could you be one of them?
