Will March come in like a lion or a lamb?  We’ll be tracking the weather, daily, (here in the kindergarten room), for the month of March.  We’re hoping to figure out whether there is any truth to the old saying.  If it starts out like a lion, we should find a lamb on the last calendar square, and vice versa.  The JK/SK crew will also dive further into weather conditions.  What makes a rainbow?  How do clouds form, and why is precipitation sometimes rain, and sometimes snow?

We are also looking forward to the March Break (the 11th  – 15th).  We’ll be coming up with special theme days to keep our days entertaining and full of fun!

There are SO many other things to celebrate during the month of March, as well!

The 7th is National Cereal Day, and we’ll be writing to Mr. Ian (Story Book’s amazing chef) to see if he could whip up some special Chex mix for us.

The 17th, as everyone knows, is St. Patrick’s Day.  It falls on a weekend, but we will be sure to celebrate all things green, learn about shamrocks, Ireland, and the luck of the Irish.  And, if we’re lucky, catch a glimpse of those sneaky little leprechauns!

On March 19th, the kindergarten crew will share their favourite jokes, as it is officially “Let’s Laugh Day”!  And Robert Munich’s stories always captivate our attention and spread giggles throughout our room.

As we do every year, we’ll be “rocking our socks” on World Down Syndrome Day.  Don’t forget to wear your most colourful and/or crazy socks that day,

“Something on a Stick” Day falls on March 28th.  Hmmm, . . . perhaps an after school popsicle treat?!?

Story Book Early Learning Centre will be closed on Friday, March 29th , for Good Friday, and again on Monday, April 1st, as we celebrate the Easter holiday.  But not before our kindergarten class has a chance to play all of our special Easter games, read lots of stories, and create some colourful art pieces to decorate your homes.
