Our Kindergarten room certainly has been busy lately, and the past month has flown right by! We’ve welcomed some new friends and had a few different teachers in to spend some time with us.
We’ve decided to explore the “weather” a little further, as we believe that Mother Nature may have gotten the seasons mixed up. We certainly didn’t mind a bit of snow already and made the most of our Fall “Snow Day”, by playing in that fluffy white stuff outside! Guess it’s time to break out those hats and mittens!
Our Kindergarten crew have also been discussing the meaning of “being kind”, prompted by the recent “World Kindness Day”. Step into our room and you will see these little ones helping each other to clean up messes, open snack packaging, and put toys away. Perhaps the best; is the hugs that they give, when they feel a friend is in need!
It’s almost hard to believe that December is already here! Our Kindergarten class is anxious and more than ready to get on with the Christmas cheer! There has already been SO much talk of tree decorating, elves that visit their houses, Santa lists, and more! Surely, their excitement will continue, as we’ve got LOTS in store for them in the coming weeks! Keep an eye on our bulletin board and check our file box for festive crafts and art pieces. Listen for our new Christmas rhymes and fingerplays, and understand that on any given day, we may be playing their absolute favourite . . . Christmas Carol Freeze Dance, as we finish up our daily routine!
We can’t say for sure, but our Kindergarten group may be in for a month long “visitor”, as Santa has been known to leave a little “friend” behind in our room. Just hoping the little guy isn’t as mischievous as he was last year. We never knew what we’d find him doing each morning; . . . constructing straw ladders, playing with playdoh, dumping puzzles, crafting with our recycle bin contents, . . . oh my!
Just a reminder, Story Book E.L.C. will be OPEN on Mon, Dec. 23rd , 2019. We will be CLOSED from Dec. 24th – Jan. 1st (for the holidays). We will re-open on Thurs. Jan 2nd, 2020. Please let the staff know of any changes to your child’s schedule.
