While understanding the concept of seasonal changes is too abstract for babies, they do relate to the daily experience of dressing in warm clothing in the winter months. We provided a basket of hats and mittens to explore in our classroom. The babies have been busy trying on the items provided. This activity helps to encourage self-help skills as well as promoting language. As the babies tried to put on the hats and mittens, the teachers would comment on what they were doing. They enjoyed this activity so much that we added socks and boots for them to try to slip on.
Since February is a month of “Love” we will be singing songs about love and reading books about family and friends.
We will be having a pink, red, and white day to celebrate Valentine’s day on Friday, February 14th.
Just a reminder that we are closed on Monday, February 17th for Family Day. We hope everyone gets to spend time with their loved ones.
