Infant Room #1 News

It looks as though Spring is here!  We have been enjoying the nice weather with the babies! The older babies are working on their gross motor skills while playing outdoors. They are incorporating balance along with strength to climb up the hill to get to the slide. The younger babies are also enjoying their time outdoors strolling along in the buggy. While out for our walks we look for different things such as: squirrels, trees, cars, and trucks.  Please be sure to bring a sun hat. We will provide sunscreen for your child and will apply daily unless you specify otherwise. The sunscreen brand is Crocblock broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection (SPF 30).

The babies have been interested in zoo animals this past month and we will continue to read books, sing songs, and do finger plays about animals. They also have showed a lot of interest in ball play. We have provided the babies with a small ball pit containing different sizes of balls. They can sit in it, spin it, or kneel beside it.

We have made a lot of accomplishments! A few of our babies are sitting well independently, while a few of the older babies are walking well on their own! At snack and meal time we have been encouraging the babies to help feed themselves by giving them their own spoon! They are trying so hard.

We would also like to wish all Mothers a very happy Mother’s Day!

Reminder: Story Book will be closed May 22nd for Victoria Day. Have a safe and happy holiday!

Infant Room #2 News

Spring has sprung and as the saying goes: “April showers bring May flowers…”. We are ready for more sunshine and less rain as we love getting outside for our walks and playing on the playground.

Markers, paint, and bingo dabbers are some of the fun things we have been using during creative time. We have also been doing some gross motor activities on rain days like the ball pit, dancing with scarves and movement ribbons, and the foam slide.  Felt stories and songs have also been a big hit during large group time.

We would also like to wish all Mothers a very happy Mother’s Day!

Just a reminder we will be closed Monday, May 22nd for Victoria Day. We hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday.
