Infant Room #1

Welcome back! We hope everyone had a joyous and relaxing holiday. With the New Year in progress, we unfortunately have to say goodbye to some of our infant friends as they move to the Toddler Room, but we are excited to say hello to our new friends and families in our Infant 1 classroom.

We hope that we can soon see some snow outside and can begin our indoor sensory play exploring the cold. Just a reminder to continue sending a snowsuit, hat, mittens, and boots daily so we can go for walks (weather permitting).

For the month of January, we are talking about pets. We encourage all our families to please send a photo of their family’s pet along with their name so we can display them on our “sight” board. Thanks!

We are focusing more on finger play activities and action songs to promote music and movement. We also are incorporating more American Sign Language in our daily routine to give our younger infants a way to communicate. ASL is a beneficial skill for any child to learn, as it gives them the ability to communicate with others and supports diverse needs.

Infant Room #2

Happy New Year! We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful holiday with family and friends. December was a month full of holiday fun. We enjoyed Christmas songs, books, crafts, and especially putting the bulbs on our Christmas tree.

After a relaxing holiday we are ready and happy to get right back into the swing of things. We are looking forward to sharing some winter activities with the infants. It’s always fun watching the babies discover snow by watching it out the windows, seeing it on walks, and playing with it outside in the playground. We are also looking forward to bringing the snow inside for some sensory exploration.

If the sidewalks remain clear of snow and the temperatures do not drop too low, we will continue to get outside. Please remember to send labelled appropriate clothing for our outside times.
