Infant 1 News
We had so much fun talking about pets during the month of January. Thank you to everyone who sent pictures of their family pet, it really gave the infants a piece of home at school. The babies loved looking at the pets on our display board, they also enjoyed saying their names and the sounds they make.
During the month of January, we enjoyed watching the snow fall from our classroom window and even enjoyed bringing it inside to explore. We hope that the weather will begin to cooperate so that we can go on more regular walks again!
For the month of February, we plan to talk about love and families. Our infants love looking at their pictures on our family tree. If you have not sent us one already, we would love to have a family photo to display. During this time, we will also be working on love and heart-themed artwork to decorate our classroom. We will use this opportunity to expose the infants to different shapes especially hearts!
Just a reminder that we will be closed on Monday, February 16th for Family Day. We hope you enjoy your long weekend with your families.
Infant 2 News
The weather outside is frightful, but the babies are so delightful. We are so lucky to have such an amazing bunch! A huge WELCOME to our newest infants as they join our room. They have all been adjusting extremely well. On the other hand, our older infants are a very social group, and they love playing “hide and seek” around the rocking chair as they practice their newly found running skills!
We have been extra excited about singing lately, the older infants have began singing “eieio” and making animal sounds at the appropriate times. They can also name quite a few of the animals, as they are adding more words to their vocabulary everyday! We will continue to sing more songs with repetition and use flannel pieces to enhance their learning.
We’ll continue to build on the infant’s curiosity by introducing winter themes like colours, snow, ice, winter clothing, winter animals, and snowmen throughout the month.
