Welcome to January 2026! We hope the New Year brings happiness and health to all families and friends. We hope everyone had a good holiday and we’re able to enjoy it with the ones you hold dear.
We have a lot in store for the children this year, and we cannot wait to begin. We are ready to explore new things and offer new and exciting materials for the children to explore. For the month of January, we will be talking about Winter and the cold weather. Exploring Arctic animals and discussing animals that hibernate this time of year.
We will be encouraging the toddlers to use self help skills in all areas of our classroom. Using the “flip” method, they will learn to put on their own coats and help dress themselves for outdoor play. In the restroom we are encouraging independence to pull pants up and down, along with handwashing. Lastly, we are focused on eating with utensils, gripping the fork properly and poking items such as noodles and using our spoon without flipping it upside down. These skills will get them ready for the preschool rooms.
A reminder to parents to please provide warm outer wear as we are outside for quite sometime (weather permitting). Please ensure that all their belongings are labelled, this helps so things don’t go missing.
There is a PD Day Friday January 16th. Please let us know if it will affect your childcare needs.

Welcome back and Happy New Year from Toddler 2! We can hardly believe 2026 has already began. We hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your loved ones. We are looking forward to all the fun the new year has in store for us. We have already begun welcoming some new friends from the infant room into our class, as well as saying goodbye and wishing lots of luck to those moving up to the preschool room.
We spent the month of December learning all about Christmas and the holidays. The toddlers enjoyed creating special presents to gift to their loved ones, we hope you loved them!
During the month of January, we look forward to learning all about winter, Arctic animals, experiencing the snow and more!
We thank you for bringing labeled and appropriate winter gear for your little one. We also ask that you continue to practice putting on snowsuits with them to promote self-help skills as this makes for an easier transition going outside.
We hope you have a great year!
