Happy New Year! We hope that everyone had a wonderful and festive holiday and are excited to welcome everyone back. We are starting off the new year talking about what the friends did over the Christmas Holidays and about the winter wonderland we have outside. We will explore activities we can enjoy in the snow and learn about the different creatures that live in the snowy and cold environments.
During December, we did a count down to Christmas. The children were excited to figure out how many days were left until Santa came! To build on this interest, we introduced an interactive calendar that the children could use and help us keep track.
Since the weather hasn’t been cooperating with us, there have been days we were unable to get outside. The children have been having dance parties instead to get out some energy. It’s a lot of fun!
Just another reminder to keep labeling the children’s outdoor gear as we do not want anything getting lost or misplaced. We also ask that mittens are sent over gloves, as it takes extra time for teachers to help get all their little fingers into each finger hole. Mittens not only promote self help skills but are also warmer for outdoor play.

Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed your time at home with your families. We’re excited to be back and hear all about your holiday adventures!
In December, we spent the month learning about hibernation and all things winter and Christmas. Throughout January, we will continue discussing winter and where the animals go when it’s cold, as well as adding a new hibernation themed toy to our shelves.
The children loved working in Santa’s workshop, building and fixing toys, making cookies, and the occasional coffee! While we were sad to see it go, we’re are excited to work together to create a new dramatic play centre.
Our classroom will likely be expanding soon with new friends and another teacher joining us. We can’t wait to welcome them!
Please note: Friday, January 16th is a P.A. Day for the elementary schools. Let us know if this will affect your child’s schedule.
