How is it possible that summer has already come to an end! In the Kindergarten room, we had such an incredible couple of months together, learning, sharing, and having LOTS of fun! There were far too many favourites to list, but our crew especially loved performing in outdoor concerts, solving mysteries, exploring the underwater trenches, having dance lessons, glow parties, a little trip to Hawaii, and water days with the fire department.
As we head into a new school year, we are anxious and excited to welcome our former preschool friends to our classroom. Our newly appointed SK’s are ready to show them the ropes and help their transition into “big school”! Our newest JK’s will quickly learn that our kindergarten classroom is all about kindness, friends, fun, and lots of laughter!
We’ll spend the first couple of weeks getting to know each other, our likes and dislikes, our families, our pets, and all our favourite things.
As the weather starts to cool, apple picking becomes a big interest to our little learners. We’ll talk all about the process, read stories, and capture their interest in artwork.
Already, the children have a fascination (or slight apprehension) about the buzzing bees that we see outside. We’ll learn the difference between wasps and bees and figure out if the yellow jackets are actually wearing coats. We’ll learn which ones to stay away from, and which ones are harmless (not all bees want to sting!).
The first P.A. Day of the school year is scheduled for Friday, September 19th. We do offer “full day” care to our students. If your child requires care, please sign up (blue sheet) by our sign out clipboard.
We are anticipating another great year with the Kindergarten crew and can’t wait to share it with all of you!
Reminder Story Book will be closed on Monday, October 13th for Thanksgiving.
