Preschool Room # 2

The children saw their first robin this month. He was perched on a tree on the playground and we actually heard him before we saw him. Spring has finally arrived. It is too early to talk about the signs of Spring, but the children are noticing that the snow is gone and that they can ride the bikes again.

The children are interested in the alphabet and especially the letters in their name. They are beginning to form letters and can pick out alphabet stickers that they recognize. It is so exciting for the teachers to see this evolve. A child’s name is so important to them.

There has been much interest in eggs and what hatches from them. The children are especially concerned about the sea turtles and their plight to get to the sea after they have hatched. The children are showing empathy for the world around them. I hope we have some environmentalists in our midst.
