April showers brought . . . more rain in May, but we are happy to report that LOTS of flowers have finally appeared in our outdoor play space.  Well, . . . dandelions, actually.  The kindergarten crew has done a little research on the two most common types of dandelions (the fluffy white ones & the bright yellow variety). While you may see a yard full of weeds, we choose to see hundreds of “wishes”.  We hope that they all come true!

Last month, we surprised our moms with little “love bug” cards, using our fingerprints, photos, and a hand printed message.  In a couple of weeks, it will be our dads that we hope to honour on Father’s Day.  Stay tuned for a peek at what we have in the works for those special guys!

A welcome addition, to our kindergarten classroom, is the new bucket of “calming” rocks.  Although, initially introduced to assist the children in self-regulating, they have quickly become a fun circle time activity.  With a little imagination, the JK/SK friends have figured out how to move the rocks without the use of their hands!  Soon, we will be giving each one a little “personality” by painting stripes, polka dots, and/or faces on them.

Our outdoor space is also looking a little more colourful these days!  The kindergarten group LOVE to create their masterpieces with sidewalk chalk.  At any given moment, the brick walls and pavement may be adorned with flowers, rainbows, ninja turtles, rocket ships, and anything else that that their imaginations dream up.

June is proving to be a busy month.  A final P.A. Day will take place on Friday, June 7th.  Please let us know if your child will require care.  Thanks!

Our kindergarten crew have certainly packed a lot into the past nine months together and can hardly believe that the school year is coming to a close.  We look forward to a fun-filled summer program, full of special activities, crafts, theme days, and visitors.  We hope that you will join us on our upcoming exciting adventures! To those that are out for the summer months, we certainly look forward to seeing you back in September!
