School-Age #1

“Come said the leaves to the wind one day,

Come O’er the meadows and we will play.

Put on you dresses scarlet and gold,

For summer is gone and the days grow cold.”

-George Eliot

Welcome October! Last month, we could hardly wait for fall to arrive! We started off September by getting to know all about one another discussing families, culture, our talents, and reminiscing about our summer fun. We have finally gotten back into the swing of things and mastered our routine here in school-age #1. Friendships are quickly developing, and we are eagerly planning our Halloween costumes and all the fun we will have daily as we await the spookiest day of the year!

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, and we look forward to planning enticing activities that surround giving thanks and appreciation for our lives and the people within.

School-Age #2

We can hardly believe that we have already been in school a whole month. “Time may go by fast, but memories last forever.”

We would like to welcome Ms. Kayla to our School-Age #2 room. She will be a new team teacher working along Ms. Lindsay. Ms. Kayla comes with lots of experience having previously worked in another school-age latchkey program. We are very excited for her to bring her new ideas and creativity to our program.

All month we have been taking advantage of the warmer weather. The children really enjoy playing group soccer and basketball games. The children also enjoy playing with chalk, skipping ropes, construction vehicles, and playing wall ball. We will continue to go outside everyday after school weather permitting.

This month our focus will be Thanksgiving and Halloween. The School-Age children will participate in our annual “Colouring Contest,” where everyone who participates wins a special treat. We will be creating beautiful works of art to decorate their homes.
