Infant Room
Our goal for care of the Infant Child at Story Book Early Learning Centre is to have happy, healthy babies who are developing skills, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Besides providing stimulation and physical care with knowledge of infant development, the most important factor is to establish a trust with the child. Although they are in group care their needs should be individualized and appropriately responded to. Consequently by anticipating and responding to their needs we will realize the goal of happy, healthy well-developed infants.

Toddler Room: 18 months to 2 1/2 years
Toddlers are a fun and exciting group of children. Toddlers are very busy (so are staff) and they are just learning about independence and often asserting it. It is the time for an explosion of language and the development of gross motor skills. We work on all of these developing skills, plus toilet learning, as part of our day-to-day program. Toddlers also have a full curriculum, which is age appropriate for them. Lots of TLC and hugs are an integral part of a toddler’s day.

Preschool: 2 1/2 years to 3 1/2 years
Our objective for the preschooler is for them to grow socially and emotionally through play by participating in a variety of songs, games, and stories. Our progam focuses on language development, independence and toilet learning. We provide many activities and opportunities that encourage turn-taking, following directions, and social and verbal skills. Our "work day" is spent learning new skills while we play.

Preschool: 3 1/2 to 4 1/2
Our goal is for every child to become the best that he/she can be. Our focus is school readiness. We provide learning activities that promote self-help, listening, sharing, cooperating, and fine motor skills. There is always something new to teach at circle time through the use of stories, teaching-aids, songs and games.

JR and SR Kindergarten
JR and SK children are involved in learning experiences that enhance math, science, and language skills. Pre-reading and pre-writing skills are included daily. We also want to stimulate your child’s creative mind and imagination while appreciating individual differences in all children. Of course, we read to the children every day.

School Age 6 years to 10 years Latchkey & School Holidays
The program offers a great deal of freedom of choice, while encouraging and expecting the children to take responsibility for their choices. This approach allows individual needs to be met and promotes the development of decision-making skills and a sense of responsibility. Our teachers take a positive approach to each child, giving encouragement and building a child's self esteem and sense of worth. We have a lot of fun while learning exploring, socializing, creaing and much more.

Children with Special Needs
Children with special needs are an inclusive part of our program. They participate in all aspects of the program with the necessary adjustments and support. Classroom teachers also implement individual program plans for these children on a daily basis. Specialized services are provided via Children First for children with special needs. Individual therapists arrange to implement service at the preschool. Support is also provided to the family in the home as required.
