Kindergarten

The children and staff spent a lot of time laughing during the month of November. Our focus was silly songs and books. What better author than Robert Munsch, when you think of a silly collection of books. The Kindergarten children enjoyed taking part in the repetitive phrases seen in each book.

We also have begun to talk about winter. The children were excited to share that they have seen snow starting to fall and all the ideas and plans for then next big snowfall. We decide to create some beautiful winter art and read some winter stories.

Last week Ms. Lindsay accidentally left the tablet on the cart. The next morning the Kindergarten kids excitedly told one another they heard a “jingle bell” noise; which was actually the low battery notification on the tablet. The children couldn’t pin point where the sound was coming from so collectively they decided it must be an elf. The children then decorated some pictures for the elf and left them on the cart overnight. When we came back in the morning our pictures were gone and a note was left from our friend Eddie the elf. He told us he had been watching us and that Santa and his reindeer said, “hello.” This will be a big interest for us as we head into Christmas.

Story Book E.L.C will close Friday December 22nd at 6 pm and re-open Tuesday January 2nd at 6 am. We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Please let the staff know of any changes to your child’s schedule due to the holiday season.
